If you don't know this month is Black History Month and one of the ways in which the worship band are planning to celebrate Black History Month is that we are playing songs that some of the African members of the band grew up with each week.
This week is Tomi's choice, "I am Nigerian so I'm going to be teaching you a song that I grew up with." Today, I will lift up my voice
FOOD:
To celebrate Black History Month as a Christ Church Family we had an African and Caribbean Celebration Lunch on 20th October, after the 10:15 service.
This was an opportunity for us to gather as a church family and celebrate with food enjoyed as part of African and Caribbean culture.

Amazing food, and so much! Super fellowship and a huge thank you to all who made this such a success!
I am so glad you enjoyed today. The black bean stew was made by my cousin. She made a few of the dishes to add to the food that our Church family made. The black beans are a special produce from Uganda and just made with onions & salt
Can we buy the beans in London? What are they called?!
You can make the dish with black beans available here. She has seen them in Tesco. Just boil them until they are soft, then fry with onions and season with salt.
